MSTRS registration policies and procedures

ADMISSION / ENROLMENT PROCEDURE

MSTRS sets policies and procedures for the registration of both local and overseas students. MSTRS considers all applications equally regardless of gender, religion, disability and social or ethnic origin. Applicants must meet the admission requirements for each MSTRS course they are seeking to join. Application forms and entry requirements may be obtained from the administration office at the Centre or from the website. The centre can be contacted through its website, e-mail, telephone, postal correspondence or face-to-face at the reception.

United Kingdom and EU student registration procedure

UK and EU students wanting admission are required to complete the application form and then remit payments to the centre along with copies of their academic documents and passport or birth certificate. Additionally, if the student is already registered with a professional body, the registration number must be provided on the application or a copy of the card. Please check UKBA website for updated detailed emigration process to enter UK.

International student registration procedure

International students already in the UK

In addition to the above, international students in the UK will have to provide a copy of their passport with a valid student visa and where one is available an UK biometric Foreign national ID card.

Students abroad

MSTRS encourages students to register from across the world. Each culture enriches MSTRS unique educational environment.

To enrol at MSTRS, please note the following procedure.

  • Upon receipt of student application form, MSTRS will assess the student against the admission requirement and qualified students will be given a conditional letter of acceptance and a unique temporary student identification number. (CAS).
  • The 50 % Deposit of tuition fees must be paid before a CAS can be sent which supports the visa application. Before your interview with the British Embassy, you must obtain the confirmation of your admission in the form of the MSTRS Enrolment Letter. This document confirms your acceptance and course payment. The deposit of 50% of your course costs must be received before the enrolment letter is issued. Your enrolment creates a binding agreement between you and MSTRS. If you fail to obtain your visa we will refund after deducting a 10% administration charge.
  • In the event of a visa cancellation by the British Embassy after the commencement of a course, for whatsoever reason, there will be no refund.
  • Transfer of fees to another student will be solely at the discretion of the director. A minimum of £150 transfer fee will apply.
  • Where a student has obtained a student visa using MSTRS documentation and then decides not to follow their course at MSTRS, once they have arrived in the UK there will be no refund. In due course, the Home Office will be advised. (Please see the reporting events from Admissions document)
  • If for any reason a course is cancelled, students will be offered an alternative course, or a full refund of fees.
  • If students change their course of study during the term, no refund will be given.
  • Students are required to maintain consistent attendance throughout the duration of their course. Holders of student visas are advised that the Centre will enforce HOME OFFICE rules and insist that a full-time course of a minimum of 15 hours per week of daytime study is followed. Failure to attend class (without prior authority or acceptable absence duly notified) will result in dismissal from the centre. (Please see the reporting events from Admissions document)
  • It is the student's personal responsibility to ensure that examination registrations are i order and are sent off to the relevant examining bodies by the due closing date.
  • Overseas students must comply strictly with the Immigration Rules.
  • MSTRS reserves the right to refuse admission to any student.
  • MSTRS also reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any student without a refund of fees in the event of serious misconduct or unsatisfactory attendance/progress. Failure to report for classes at the agreed start date, without notice, will result in the forfeiture of fees and the HOME OFFICE will be notified. (Please see the reporting events from Admissions document)
  • MSTRS reserves the right to change the time of the scheduled for courses.
  • The Centres Prospectus is correct at the time of printing but is subject to alteration.

Policies and procedures with regard to the non-arrival of a student

Where a visa application is not successful, the student or centre representative must fax the refusal letter (form APP 200) from the Embassy / High Commission along with a copy of the passport details. If a student obtains a visa and does not report to the college by the due date they will be considered as a "non-arrival" and the Home Office will be advised. According to MSTRS policy, a list of all the non-arrival students and their details will be sent to the Home Office. (Please see the reporting events from Admissions document)

Policies and procedures for the non-attendance of a student

Student attendance are strictly monitored. Non-attendance is not acceptable unless validated reasons are given. According to MSTRS policy, a warning notice is sent to students who stay absent for one week without any notification. Failure to attend classes consecutively for one month (in the event of long courses, without notice) will result in the student being expelled from MSTRS. The Home Office will be advised of the expulsion. Students must meet the minimum 80% attendance requirement. If this is not done they face expulsion and their details will be forwarded to the Home Office.

Policies and procedures are reviewed by the British government and applicants and their representatives need to check with the British consulate for up to date UK entry and visa regulations.
